Temperature meter retrofit

After buying a used C3, I am generally happy, except when I learnt that it does not have a water temperature mater. This surprised me, as I find the information from the meter very useful in running the car.
What I would like to know is whether any models in the range have a water meter, and if so, can one be retrofitted to my car. I realise that this would involve buying a new dash and wiring it in but it could be worthwhile.

Early models have one, and yes, they are very useful but I have no idea if you could retro fit it. Probably not worth the hassle.


You may find it easier to fit a new temperature gauge, independent of the dashboard display and the car computers, something like this thing from eBay. Just find somewhere to mount it and attach the sensor to a radiator pipe.

Thanks for a quick repy - you're probably right as that dash looks totally dfferent to mine, which is a mk1.
Progress isn't always positive, and the gradual loss of water temperature gauges from many cars is a step backwards, especially if you tow heavy loads as I do sometimes. In these situations, it's a lifesaver to know if the engine is starting to overheat and by how much.
