Hi, I've just bought a C3 2007 in very good condition, the only problem it has is the driver side window will only go up and down about an inch at a time. I've traced the problem to the temic module that controls the motor. The motor works fine when 12v is applied in both directions, and the switch also works. The Temic module only produces a short voltage pulse when the switch is closed, hence the window moving in short increments.
I have sourced a replacement at a reasonable price, it has the same equivalent part number as mine, 440787 E, but it is listed for a Renault. I have asked the seller if it is compatible with my C3 and he says no, directing me to his C3 part which is twice the price.
So the question is, will the "Renault" part fit my C3? It looks exactly the same, it has an equivalent part number among other part numbers. Is he trying it on and does anyone here have any experience with these modules?
Thanks.

Hello M Lynn
Before you replace the module I would try lubricating!
Apply some silicone spray to the window seals, it needs to go into the slots in the seals where the glass runs. Lubricating the moving parts of the window mechanism inside the door can also help.
Often what happens is that the drivers window gets more use than all the others and starts to get harder to operate. The control module monitors the amount for power that is applied to the motor and if this is excessive it thinks that the window is jammed or something is trapped stopping the glass from moving. Hence the window starts to move and then stops.
Even if this doesn't cure your problem, it's a worthwhile bit of maintenance and if it does work you've saved the price of a replacement part.
While you're at it lubricating I would do all the opening windows.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Thanks, I'll do that. I did try that approach by giving the window a push up with my hand while operating the switch, and there doesn't seem to be any resistance when the window moves with full 12v applied to the motor. No abnormal noise, no sound of the motor struggling at any point, no slowing down of the window movement, so I think all is well there.
