Hi all,

Hoping someone is able to assist with my boot issue.

So the switch will not open the boot. I have been able to manually open the boot to do some testing.
So I'm getting a signal from the switches connector and the switch is acting as a switch and will pass the signal on. It passes the signal onto the latch connector as far as I can tell/test, so I thought it was a issue with the latch. After ordering and fitting the new latch the boot still does not open.

I have done a ECU reset on the car which has sorted out a old clock issue after changing the stereo but no luck with the boot.

Additional information:
There is no issue with the central locking of the car; this works as expected. No warning lights showing on the dash at all and most importantly, the display is showing when the boot is open and stops showing this when it is closed, so the car is aware of the open/closed state the boot is in.

Any help much appreciated as feel like I have done all that can be done up to this point,
thanks.

Hi R9anSmart

The switch signal goes to the BSI that decides if a signal should be sent to the lock/latch or not.

The boot can't be unlocked with the engine running without opening the drivers door and some strange scenarios like that because the BSI says 'no' to the switch signal request.

I wonder how you get to test there is a 'open' signal at the lock/latch?

If there is a genuine 'open lock/latch', present at the right time, I can only assume the earth/supply for the latch is bad and a complete circuit is not being made.

This would explain why a new latch didn't make a difference?

How would I test the earth connection?

And for clarification, I tested the signal going to the lock/latch by unplugging the connector and measuring if there was a electrical signal being sent when the switch was held down and it did, cant recall what the reading was though
