Hi Guys and Girls, we have a 2007 C3 Turbo Diesel, car drives fine but the front Passenger side Suspension spring snapped yesterday. I read that there seems to be lots of issues around the Suspension, is this a issue that Citroen have recalled on? and if so are Garages likely to repair free or at a reduced cost?

Hi andys3393, welcome to the forum.

There was not a recall for the springs. The recall was for early cars to be fitted with a modification to 'catch' the spring when it breaks. I am surprised the springs have lasted so well on yours at over 100 000 miles :)

If your springs were changed when the dampers were done, you may find you wouldn't have a broken spring, dampers and springs should be changed together and in pairs across the car to avoid problems (in my opinion) and why ever not, you have to remove the spring to replace the strut. Just be very careful as they are banana (side load springs) on the C3.

Its not very expensive to have new springs and struts fitted, but I am not aware of any special discounts because its a C3 :)

You can look to see if there is an F1 Autocentre near you and also check parts costs with Euro Car Parts website for pairs of springs and dampers.
