I have a 2016 (66) C3 Picasso 1.2 Exclusive (petrol) which has done approximately 9000 miles. Over the past few days it has started making an intermittent, faint noise, a bit like a clonking cow bell, mainly when I'm steering at low speeds. It seems as if it's coming from around the steering wheel but there are no warning lights. It doesn't seem to happen when I'm driving at speed. Is it serious and should I get it checked quickly?

Hello Jodiphil

If your 'intermittent, faint noise, a bit like a clonking cow bell' is a gong, then the car is warning you of a condition like 'over speed limiter' or seatbelt or handbrake. For 'over speed limiter' you don't get a warning light.

Is it safe to ask a passenger to record the sound and then upload it to youtube?

It is difficult to tell if it is a safety issue from only the description.
