I genuinely didn't do this ! ,I've had the car about 2 months and when I bought it this button was missing , it's the cruise control switch , I initially thought there must be an issue with the function and for safety the owner had removed it , however whilst out I have bridges the gap with a wire , the three bells chime and the switches light up , so I'm assuming it was damaged in error , do I need all 4 steering wheel switches or is it possible to prise out of a scrap vehicle ( just the switch not the circuit board ) and push it in , I've heard that they are fragile .

Oh, I believe you did! LOL!
Yes they are!
The two button assemblies are just pushed into the soft steering wheel material with two "pins", shafts or barbed spikes (however you want to describe them) for each switch. The wiring harness plugs into a three pin connector and loops between the two switches and the two horn contacts.
You need to remove the airbag and just pry the two switch assemblies out of the steering wheel. They are not held in by anything but the barbs, however, be careful and take your time or you will break them trying to get them out!
Cars with cruise controls are fairly rare so you might have a bit of trouble finding one at a breakers. The Citroen C2 and the Peugeot 1007 have the same switches.
By the way, if you find a good example of the C3 "cruise control" steering wheel I would be very interested. As you know the C3 has a grey panel at the top of the steering wheel, the C2's is black. I am just interested in the steering wheel, not the switches. The C3 and C2 were NEVER available here in AUS with the option of cruse control. I bought a steering wheel from a breakers in the UK but its in poor condition and may cost me a bit to get it renewed.
Oh! Just a bit of trivia...there are spots on the circuit boards in the switches to put resistors and LEDS to illuminate them BUT PSA never went ahead with it! You can actually see the unused pads in your picture. There IS an extra pad on the circuit board for the illumination wire but there are not enough wires in the "clock spring" to do it. However, there is a power wire that would allow you to run the lEDs all the time.

Yes, there is some 'new old stock' of genuine Citroen C3 cruise control steering wheels in a warehouse in Athens, Greece. You can have them delivered to you from eBay.Ozvtr wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 6:41 pm By the way, if you find a good example of the C3 "cruise control" steering wheel I would be very interested.
