speedometer shows letter A and 0

Hi guys.would you be so kind and help me.my dashboard and to be more precise speedometer below mph shows letter A and number 0 or letter o, between A and 0 there is a gap like five spaces so they are not next to eachother.Few days ago there was number 2 instead of 0 but it went down to 0.there is no any dashboard lights at all.car drives fine.thanks for help

It could be the oil level indicator?
The row of o 's shows the quantity of oil in the sump when the car is level.

I don't think this is oil.oil shows up when start the car and disappear after few seconds and shows with that symbol and oooooo.this one stays on all the time when you drive and looks like capital letter A and 0

Thanks for the picture. I tried to get my car (2002) to emulate your display and I couldn't find what is causing it. I also had a look in my manual and didn't find anything. Its a bit of a mystery

Is this the original factory fitted speedo display unit?

Can you remember what was happening when you first noticed it?

Is the vehicle automatic? Or manual
