Had to have a replacement ECU fitted to my C3 due to the usual water ingress fault. Had my local garage do it and they sent the old ECU and the other board and my Security info card away to a firm to have it all coded together. All came back, plugged in and all is now running fine...phew!....but.... the one thing I don’t have it’s the security card! The garage say it never came back and have enquired with the company who did the ECU but no further news. You can see where this is going, to me to you, pass the buck time. So my question is, do I need the card or can I get a replacement (if needed) if it turns out no one will accept blame responsibility for it. I can usually trust my garage to do things OK. Any ideas of cost if I had to, know it would be a dealer job though

The confidential key card.
It has a four digit code printed on it.
Great news on having it running again.Raggy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 9:41 am All came back, plugged in and all is now running fine...phew!....but.... the one thing I don’t have it’s the security card! You could have written the four digits down on a piece of paper before sending it away, so you have a copy.
But that may be no use to you if the code in the new/repaired ECU has a different code.
You probably don't want your old card back, what you will need is the new code for the new ECU. That won't be on a card. It may be printed on the invoice. You may find there is no code and the company has deleted it or set it to '1234' or '0000' or even '____' etc.
Connect up lexia and try entering no code and some of the default possibilities and you may find the solution with minimal work

Yes, afterthoughts are always good! No didnt take a copy, silly me, was inly too glad it was getting sorted. Said they getting all info copied from old to new. So you reccon to not loose too much sleep over its loss? Just annoying.
