reversing beeper too loud

Hi, I have just purchased a 65 reg Citroen C3 and it has reversing sensors, this is great and very helpful however, outside it lets of a very loud beeping when I reverse, like its a 7.5 ton truck reversing, it’s highly embarrassing considering the size of the car lol

My question is, how do I stop the exterior beeping ? Everything inside is perfect, the beeping, sensors, screen etc it’s literally just the silly but load beeping heard outside the vehicle.

This is new to me. Having had the 2010-2016 and 2016 on versions, neither have ever sounded outside the car, and I have never heard a car with exterior reversing alarms. If this car is doing this, it must be an after-market fitment.

Further to this, if there is an external beeper it must by law be switched off between 23.30 and 07.00, so there needs to be a mute switch.

An example of an after-market reversing beeper here. on eBay.
