Dear all
I'm planning to replace the front anti roll bar of my MK1 C3 (1.6 16V) and replace it with a 21mm ARB from a scraped C2 VTR.

Is it possible to slide it out after disconnecting the drop links and the plates holding the ARB bushing?
If not possible, what is the best way?

Thanks
Marco

Hi Marco

I have never had the need to remove a roll bar, they don't wear but changing the bushes is quite common.

Looking at the restricted space and the shape of it, I would say you need to drop the subframe and that can be a problem because the mounting bolts are held in by plastic an they are prone to breaking.

From what you would gain, that is a fair amount of work for very little, unless the engine is out anyway?

dear C3CAR
indeed it was a pain, I had to lower the subframe to slide the ARB out.
I wanted to so anyhow and spend an additional half an hour to gain some more in handling.

I also had replaced the rear torsion bar with a C2 one, and now the car setup of my C3 1.6 16V Exclusive is like the C3 VTR.

I'm going out for a test drive now and I will post the results in the tips section.

Best regards
Marco
