Hello Everyone help needed.
My wife has a C3 1.6 SV auto July/2006 20k miles
A week or so back the remote central locking key became a bit hit and miss. ( new battery needed I thought)
So I opened the key to identify the battery and ordered a new one, after I put the key back together it would not operate the locks at all.
On receiving the new battery I fitted it to the fob and alas this made no difference, still no remote lock/unlock function.
While I was pondering my next move the key fob fell to bits, it was a struggle to get the flip key blade back properly.
So I bought a new fob with blank blade. Off I went to an auto locksmith who cut the key blade and transferrred the chip and electronics to the new fob, he then tested it with some gadget that I never got a proper look at, but when he pushed the buttons some lights flashed on his magic box.
Great I thought and headed off home, tried the key... Still no remote function
Today I have tried resetting the BSI using the instructions elsewhere on here, and also a slightly different version On the BsiReman site.
Still no luck... So I'm a bit stuck for ideas as for what to try next
Additional Info:
The car starts and runs fine, immobiliser not affected at all
The car has no other electrical or other defects apparent.
The Central locking works fine off the button on the dash.
The autolock function works fine.
the auto childlock function works fine
I do not have a spare key to try
I do not have the security card/Info for the car
I have have written to the previous owner asking for these but as yet have had no contact from them.
My next thought is to contact the supplying dealer as they serviced the car annually right up to this year, and see if I can get the Card/Info from them (hopefully for free)
If I could operate the central locking from the door lock I wouldn't bother with this.
Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try to resynchronise the key to the car by following the instructions in the link belowBigDave wrote:So I'm a bit stuck for ideas as for what to try next

That was the first thing I tried to no avail, it is also part of the slightly different BSI reset instructions on the BBA Reman website.
One thing I've just noticed because its dark now, the backlight on the display brightness switch stays on!
Thanks anyway
Just checked that backlight again and it's off now, maybe went off when the BSI shuts down

Sorry, I didn't see the procedure you followed in the post.BigDave wrote:That was the first thing I tried to no avail, it is also part of the slightly different BSI reset instructions on the BBA Reman website.
Your next step would be to purchase a Lexia system to do the diagnosis on the remote locking system.
There is some information about the Lexia system here: https://citroenc3owners.com/citroen-c3-t ... -t655.html
and you will need to access these sort of screens to do the diagnosis
