Hi
thanks for adding me to the forum.

My rear wiper arm gave up. There was a crack around the hole that fits onto the spigot so it worked on and off and occasionally decided to clean the number plate. I've been looking for a replacement. All the ones available online have a hole diameter of about 9mm and are beveled. Mine is about 14mm and straight, without a metal washer. The spigot is a cylinder with grooves to grip the wiper arm hole. I contacted Valeo with the part number but they just said the part is no longer available.

Probably best just to look at the attached photo to see what I'm going on about. I'm tempted to drill a hole out of the new part or use araldite on the old arm. Any advice gratefully received,

Dodger.

Hi dodger

It looks like part of the old wiper arm is still attached to the wiper motor spigot.

I would clean up the spigot, look for a thread and the splines/taper (I can't remember which).

This is what I would expect to see on a facelift C3 rear wiper arm fixing.

That way a standard Citroen C3 rear wiper arm (here) would fit perfectly.

Thanks Arfur, that must be it. Its not budging, so its time to find the mini hacksaw.

Hi Dodger,

I can confirm that what Arfur Dent said is correct. I have fixed the exact same issue about a week ago, although the bit that was left on the spigot in my case was so corroded it almost fell off the spigot by looking at it.

I got the little bit that remained off with some pliers and then brushed it clean. You might be in the same situation or require more effort to clean the spigot. After that your new wiper arm should fit just fine.

Hope that helps.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the that. I got rid of as much corrosion as I could, but keen not to damage the connection to the motor by twisting the offending metal too hard, I opted for the hacksaw method. Within a few mins I had the top section off and the nut twisted off.
The new wiper arm has fitted just fine :D

cheers
