If you don't want the sensor and it's not working I would try to remove any parts that might be connected to the car's electrics and make good any 'spare' wires.

Anything connected to the control box only won't do any harm, but, if there are connections from the control box to the car there is potential for problems in the future. It would also remove the little speaker which is visible and blocking a nice tidy slot :o :D
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried :lol:
