I have a 56 plate 1.6hdi exclusive. the n/s rear indicator is not working. there is no feed to the lamp nor to the towbar electric control unit in the boot. All connections seem ok so it seems to me that the fault must be further upline. is it easy to trace the loom or does it run inside the sill is there a plug further forward that could be causing a poor connection ( front and side indicators are fine) Or any other ideas
Thanks Neil

Hi Neil,

The easiest point to access that is 'further upline' is the plug at the BSI.

The C3 Haynes manual (amazon link) has a clear diagram and the plug numbers for the indicators, and as you suggest the fronts and rears are supplied by different pins on the BSI.

for a 2002 model,
Its shown for N/S rear indicator is a white wire, numbered 289 connected to pin 14 of the 40 way black plug on the BSI.

Pin 13 is the other rear indicator, 10 and 20 are the fronts and 9 and 19 are the side repeaters.

I don't know if 2002 and 2006 plug colours and wires match, but it would be worth looking for indicator voltages on the known working lights to confirm.

If the signal at the BSI is OK I'd have a look in the area of the towbar electric unit. I've never seen one in a C3, however I've seen a few in other cars that have caused faults either due to bad wiring or faults within, especially so for non-OEM ones.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
