Hoping the steering rack didn't damage the alternator, as the new alternator may go the same way :cry:

so looks like im on the hunt for a alternator
ouch!

£85 for a Citroen C3 2002 1.4 Petrol Alternator - on eBay and eurocarparts have have a C3 2002 1.4 Petrol alternator for £190

Is the old one not fit for repair or reconditioning?
