Hi,

Before I start I realise that there are many posts regarding the power steering failure on the C3 Picasso but before I decide what to do with car I would love some advice.

Initially the problem started when the car would lock when I closed the drivers side door, but a few weeks later the power steering failure started. I have tried the DSI reset many many times and have had no success. Tried the turning the key in ignition 3 times without starting and again had no success. It did clear itself for around 4 days but the problem returned. Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be considering all the vehicle resets have failed. Also, does anyone have prices for what the DSI, ECU and steering rack costs?

Hi Jon.

To identify faults in the EPAS system you need to read all the codes. You read the codes with a lexia system clone (here) and a laptop. You can find out more information about lexia (here). Or take the car to a Citroen garage and they can charge you to do the diagnostic test.

The reasoning behind this is because the EPAS system is affected by other systems in the car and even if you change the EPAS ECU and Rack, the fault may persist if its external to the parts that you changed.
