Thanks Arfur Dent for the reply. Oh I always thought that the glow plugs helped with the starting. If it is the starter or the battery, not ideal but easy enough to sort out and replace.

However, the sound of the worn injectors sounds difficult to replace and expensive?

Nope not out in the country, in the town with houses around. My C3 is out on the drive overnight but not out in anything too serious.
