Hi all,
I have some problems with the handeling on my C3. I think the problem is with the shocks and or springs, but im not a 100% sure.
First issue is on the rear. when there is even a minor load in the boot or there is a person (or child) sitting on the rear seat the rear of the car will drop significantly. Second when cornering or even overtaking at low speeds the car leans over like im on a boat.
On a speedbump the frontbumper usually hits the road before the car jumps back to the normal ridehight. I checked the springs and shocks and didnt find any leaks or broken springs.
Any idea's on whats wrong? Its a 2005 1.4 HDI C3

Hi
I would say springs and dampers.
With the front, change springs and dampers together, it makes no real sense not to.
For the rears the dampers and springs come off independently of each other, but changing both of these will be the best way forward.
Change both sides at the same time.
4 springs, 4 dampers and you should have step in the right direction.
The other suspension that can wear on the front are the lower wishbone bushes as part of the lower arm. Change the whole wishbone in pairs is the easier way to change the bushes, but this can be a nightmare of a job as the bolts are often seized.
The springs get weak, if not broken and the dampers just wear out without leaking.

Sorry for the late reply. I didnt know the springs could weaken, but I guess it makes sense. Im gonna look into it.C3CAR wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 7:02 pmheadlight wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 12:37 pm Hi all,

I probably need a springcompressor and some extra tools to fit the replacements but that will be allright
