Hello.

I just ran into an odd problem. I have a 2005 Petrol Pluriel and suddenly the Aircon stopped working (no cool air anymore). I can change the fan speed, but the Air diversion (Foot, Vent, Windscreen) is not working either.

I think it might be a fuse, but the only blown one I was able to find and replace was a 5A fuse in the glove compartment. Is there anoter A/C related fuse in the motor compartment?
We expecting to get about 40 degrees end of the week here in Western Australia and it would be very unpleasant to drive without aircon.

Thanks for your help

Hi Juergen

Its not a pluriel specific problem. The fuses and A/C system, along with the heater controls are the same as the other C3 models with the same fuel engine.

Fuse F8 (20A) in the BSM (engine bay fuse box) is for the control panel but also the blower motor.

It sounds more like you have a problem with the control panel itself, a test by substitution is the best way for that.

You can find the fuses here including links to all the other fuse configurations.

Hi.

Thanks for the help.

I found the problem :(

It was not the climate control. It was caused by a refrigerant leak causing the pressure switch not to engage, so that the compressor clutch did not operate.

Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Thank you for updating us. Its unusual for the diverter to not work when the A/C pressure drops. I don't see a connection in those 2 faults.

Hello.

I took the front of the car off and had a closer look at the Aircon hoses.
The Hi pressure hose was rubbing against the Low pressure side and after 12 years the hose was rubbed trough so that all refrigerant leaked out.
So the system pressure was 0 psi and therefore the pressure control switch (which is activated at normal resting pressure) prevented the clutch to engage.
I first expected a electrical problen as a luch rapid leak is unusual, but when my daughter told me about an oilstain they spotted around the location of the compressor I went searching the other way.

As I have all the gear to regas an aircon I tested for pressure ( 0 ) and for vaccum. The vaccum was gone in less than one minute, so it was clear there must be a bigger leak somewhere.
