Hi guys,

I bought a C3 Picasso 1.6 BluHDI 100, 2016 some months ago.
It has 195/55 R16 tires with ET23 steel rims on it now, but I want to change it since they are worn out.

For some reason 205 tires are cheap around here compare to 195 so I was thinking to buy 205. But I have some doubt.
In the car registration I see the below table. So it says the rims have to be ET25 to use 205 tires. The workshop guy said he can install 205 tires to my existing rims which are ET23 already.

I wanted to ask you, what do you think, can I just get 205/55 or 205/60 tires and use my existing ET23 steel rims? I know if will affect the fuel consumption. What is your recommendation, what that fit? Is it wise to do so or just pay the money and get 195/55 :D

Your list gets shorter if you exclude the tyres that won't even fit your wheels :D

Yes, you can fit the 205 tyre in place of the 195 with the same profile.

It is only a small change, and you won't notice the very small additional ride height or fuel/performance changes in the slightly bigger circumference of the 205 tyre.

I think the quality of the tyre is more important in this equation than the extra road contact given by the wider tread.
