Hi
Does anyone know about tyre pressure sensors on a C3 Picasso 2015 how do they work are the sensors fitted within the tyre. the car as shown up tyre pressure monitoring system failure basically the car went into a ditch on the offside and when pulled out the tyre pressure monitor showed the message with the service light on tried to reinitialise the sensors but light still on, no other warning lights are lit.
Cheers .

There are no sensors on the 2015 C3. The way the system works is that the processor monitors the rate of rotation of the wheels via the abs sensors and rings and compares to the initialised values. If a tyre is soft, the wheel rotates faster as the rotation diameter is smaller. This sets the alarm. The issue with this type of system is that it works well for slow punctures but not for rapid loss of pressure, or if a tyre goes flat overnight. Reinitialisation must take a while for the system to gain the information it needs, as it requires to record the new rotation data.
