Evening all. First Post here.

I currently have a diesel C3 Picasso 1.6 12 plate.

I have had a clanging sound coming from the exhaust. I've had a look underneath and can see there is a triangular piece of metal that the exhaust is hitting against. It looks like it might be a clamp or something but I'm not entirely sure as googling Exhaust clamps doesn't bring up anything that looks like it.

I have attached a picture so you can see what I mean. It looks like it should be attached to the exhaust and has come away. Is this a big or expensive job to get repaired?

Hello Raedwald

Yes, that does look like the exhaust bracket hanger and it should be attached to the exhaust.

If that had failed, then the rest of the exhaust could do with changing or you could just get it welded back together - depending if there is enough material to weld it back to.

Obviously one is much more expensive than the other.

I have arrowed the bit that you show in your picture.

Thanks for that.

I'm guessing this isn't a part you can get separately?

I had this happen on our 2011 C3. Apparently it is extremely common on many Citroens and related Peugeots. I took mine to our local tyre fitters and they welded it for free. That was about a year ago and the rest of the exhaust (the original) is still fine.

Thanks, that's good to know, the rest of the exhaust is sound so didn't really want to replace the whole thing if I could help it. I wonder if something like this could replace it? A universal Back Box Bracket

Did the universal fix work?
