Right car taxed and insured so will collect from mates yard ....

First is to have a look at the Aircon... as per the other thread... but will post any finds or queries here...

Next I a mate has some cobalt drills, so may go for drilling the locking wheel bolt out....
Local garage said they often go the air chisel route... and don't rate the various "tools"
Any other suggestions welcome...

Next... all these new fancy headlights... (never had a problem with normal round ones with a Bulb (my lighting engineer would say " are you going to plant them in the garden, because you mean LAMP not bulb")
Well many modern (and not so modern) cars are able to simply alter the beam pattern from RHD->LHD or back turning a knob or pulling a lever.... I can see nothing in the Handbook.... so is this car that up-to-date? or is it silly stickers or tape? or something else?

It has been a nice learning curve as I have steered clear of these modern diesels....
after a few months will be looking at cam belt and water pump, flush the cooling and refill..
and I know Citroen recommend the Pink stuff... and everyone talks about corrosion inhibitor etc, but there have been many alloy engines before that with anti-corrosion coolant etc don't clog or dissolve...
I tend to use Prestone.... so other than Citroen say "USE xyz" what proven reasons are there to make me want to use OAT antifreeze.

Towbar.. have one of those funny boxes and a tow bar to fit....
It's by Towsure but reading the instructions it says "two cage nuts" these are not present but does somewhat worry me that cage nuts are used to hold the bots into the chassis rails or am I missing something..
I presume the little black box is to get round all the problems with the BSI unit?

It's safer to talk about religion or politics than antifreeze.

well I will be sure not to mention either again :D :D

However.. a nice testing day today..
found that the air con works.....
well here goes...
yes when the AC button is pressed the air is noticeably cooler....
note the word "Cooler"
In one of my other cars that has air con.. IT is COLD when the aircon is turned on... so cold that after a short while it has to be turned off..
so would it need a "recharge"? is that DIY with one of those cans from Halfrauds?

Next when the air con is on full and the car is stationary.. the engine fan sounded like a Harriet Jump jet... is this normal when stationary..

The system should be charged with R134A. HOWEVER if the car is second hand you may have no idea what refrigerant is ACTUALLY in the system. Could be R12 or a R600A/R290 blend or something else. You can DIY it but I don't recommend it. The system only uses so much refrigerant, too much or too little and it wont cool efficiently.
I would not say the aircon in the C3 is fantastic. It might be that your system is normal.
If the poor performance is because of refrigerant loss you need to investigate where the coolant is escaping from before attempting to re-gas the system.

Pound-for-pound the British Aerospace HarrierII and the Grumman S-2 Tracker are two of the loudest aircraft I have ever heard. Not technically "loud" but you could hear them from sooooooo far away. At distances where even jets with afterburners were quieter. LOL! I digress. Yes, the thermo fan will run at full speed any time the air conditioning is switched on.

A regas shouldn't be too expensive at ~£60, as you need the older cheaper gas. When I tried to have a Clio regased they checked for leaks before recharging. As they found a leak there was no charge (sorry, no pun intended).
