Hi All,

I did do a search but nothing seemed to come up. I'm keen to update our 2006 C3 1.4 to a 2017 C3 Picasso 100bhp engine model.

We've seen a nice one at a local Citroen dealer but, the clutch is horrendously stiff. I'm a big (wide) guy and it was taking a really hefty amount of muscle power to depress it. Is this in anyway normal? Dealer is trying to claim it is!

Another C3 Picasso they tried to sell us had an engine fault 2 miles up the road on test drive. I can guess what you are all going to say but in fairness, this particular main dealer has been pretty damn good to us over the last 20 years of Citroen ownership.

Although not a current model, we want a C3 Picasso because they are just so damn practical.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered,

Hi

I would say that there is a problem with the clutch.

My early model C3 clutch can be described as 'feather light'. No problem for me or the OH to operate the clutch.

You should be able to try another C3 Picasso just to test the clutch if you can find one at the dealer? - the faulty engine one?

Thanks so much indeed for confirming my suspicion.

We did in fact try the other C3 Picasso and clutch was as light as I'd expect in a C3 based car. The sales person tried to flat out deny it - Grr!.

Current state of play is an offer to service / replace clutch if we buy car but I'd really rather see this done before I part with a penny.

Of course ,what we really want is another C3 built to 2006 standards (lovely comfy seats), proper (4 cylinder) engine and less than 10,00 miles :) :) :)
