Hi Guys,
Bought my C3 Picasso in August 18 as my new 'work horse'. Overall quite impressed.
However, a few days ago the drivers door started making a spring like clunking sound when about 30% opened.
Searched the forums (as you do) for an answer. Most seem to suggest the limiting strap could be the cause.
However..... when investigating there does not seem to be a limiting strap, but a circular device underneath the top hinge (but I guess it does the same function). I could not find any reference to this device on-line.
Any help appreciated.
Rex.

The Picasso seems to have a cheaper, if not, improved version of the door control check strap. The early C3 version was overly complicated and failed quite often. The Picasso version looks much less engineered.
Part No. 3 is the door control by the looks, part number 9035.W0 up to production 25 January 2009. While 9035.EC is the part since this date.
The part is arrowed in white. This complete assembly shown is Parts available on eBay.
It would be worth looking at this to see if it is functioning correctly by comparing it with the working doors.

Thanks C3CAR for the reply.
Problem now found and resolved.
I'm a bit red faced here.... but it turned out to be the door was hitting the wing panel when opened! I guess someone reversed into the front recently and caused the problem. It was just a case of opening the door and giving the wing panel a shove forward. Now all good.
I'm guessing he panels are bolted on, so can move slightly when hit. Well it's a relief the cure didn't cost money
