Hello everybody, I'm new on this forum and my English is not so good, I hope you can understand.
I have a C3 Pluriel 1400 cc and it's a 1st series model (03/2004). One month ago the 2nd display (not the driver one) broke and i bought a used one on the ebay website. In the new one I saw a novelty compared to my original and that is the external temperature display but at the moment I get no value (--). So I bought a suitable external temperature sensor and I installed it in the right side mirror (passenger side). I took the door panel apart and found a connector with 5 wires, 3 for mirror movement, 2 unused (green and purple). I connected my sensor, I enabled the function via the Lexia, but the temperature display doesn't work, I always see (--). I diagnosed the problem with the Lexia and the error is "Permanent fault - External temperature probe - Open circuit". I also tried a 2nd sensor but the same result. It seems that the wiring does not reach the BSI ECU, can anyone give me information to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi

You car didn't have the external temperature sensor and you want to add one?

I would suggest you get a copy of the C3 haynes manual from Amazon, it covers the pluriel for the wiring diagrams as its the same as the other cars.

That will allow you to work out what extra wiring is required over and above what is already fitted by tracing back what you have in the car.

A clarification, I saw on the cover of the manual you suggested the initials (51 to 59 reg). On the cable that I have inside the door there is a label that says "Valeo A42-PORTE AVD", Is there a relationship between 42 and 51 to 59? Is that manual suitable for my 2004 Pluriel? Thank you.

There is no connection between 42 and 51 to 59

The 51 to 59 means cars registered from late 2001 to late 2009, so a 2004 will be covered. The electrical parts for everything except the roof for the pluriel is the same as the C3.
