Hello everyone, i have an annoying steering problem with my 1.4 desire. I'm brand new to owning a c3, and in fact, I'm brand new to even owning a Citroen.. My problem is this, Occasionally when I get into my car, fire it up, and move off, my beloved power steering isn't working. However when I park it up again, and return to the car, its most likely to be working again. It's an annoying intermittent fault with a nice comfortable car and would hate it if it put me off Citroen's forever. Is this something c3's suffer with..? or will I have to fork out lots of my hard earned moolah to get it put right. I had it plugged into a diagnostic machine this morning and it showed no faults.... Please help, From Andy, in Northants.

The tool only shows faults it can read. If you are not using the lexia tool or lexia clone tool, you will probably miss EPS faults and the things that affect the EPS (electronic power steering).

You are going to need to use lexia to get the codes which can guide you further to sorting the problem.

Several things affect the EPS and any one of these can give the symptoms you describe. Until you have diagnosed the problem you won't know the cost to fix it.
