Second hand car (2003, Scratchy, in joke, LOL) and the windscreen has been replaced at some time. As the title says the rain sensor is not working.
LEXIA fault code is; "adaptation of the windscreen sensor impossible".
Now I know that this could be a 1000 things to do with the actual sensor or the physical fitment of the sensor to the windscreen (gel pads and so on).
My question centers around the initialization procedure. I am hoping that the technician installed the sensor onto the windscreen correctly as there is nothing that I can do about that (now). Yes, I may be forced to remove the sensor and re-fit it but I want to see if it has been initialized first.
LEXIA has no initialization instructions (that I can find) but Diagbox does. However the instructions are incomprehensible!!! It involves the 5 stages of grief and sacrificing your first born male child!
Seriously though, It involves the hazard flasher (as a metronome, I'm serious) and flicking the wiper stalk backwards and forwards 6 times!?
Has anyone attempted this procedure? Or is there some other way of initializing the sensor?
If anyone is interested, I will try to get a screen cap of the Diagbox "instructions" for your amusement.
New windscreen, rain sensor a no-go!
