Hi,
i’ve had a hell of a time with this car and frankly i’m pretty fed up with it.
is it me or does this pertucular model seem to have different springs and bleed nipple sizes than any other 2006 c3 out there. it’s been a pig.
i’ve put new springs on and they’re rubbing the chassis. probably because i’ve used the tops for a 1.4/1.6 petrol diesel c3. the guy said they’d fit! but they had no locating pin in them.
i checked there position with the originals and it felt like they were seating in the same place, but i’m getting rubbing which has done me in. i’m going to loosen them and try and move them towards the outer edge as there is a gap there and/or swivel the top 180 to see if that would help the gap. i can’t believe the tops i need for this model are @ £50 each! what have i bought. My other question is what bleed nupple sizes do i need for front and back?
much appreciated sorry about the rant but it’s been something else.
new springs are rubbing the chassis

Do you mean the brake bleed nipples? Are you replacing them? Chewed out the flats? If you are not going to Citroen to get replacements, remove one front and one rear. Check they are the same type. There are different types of bleeder nipples. Some have a ball valve and some have a tapered seat. Sorry, I cant tell you what type is on the C3. The thread is very fine and I couldn't tell you if all bleeder nipples have the same thread. Pretty well all nipples I have dealt with require an 8mm spanner or flare nut wrench.Charles winter wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 12:21 am Hi,

If there were no pins in the upper mounts I'd say they are the wrong mounts.
There is no difference in the upper mounts for any engine type or displacement. HOWEVER in 2005 the pin location was changed. Post 2005 the pin is off-set. THE PIN ALWAYS GOES TO THE OUTER HOLE in the fender shock tower.

the nopales are different from front to rear. the rear were horrible to loosen. i’m a bit concerned i might not get new ones in after i remove the old ones! looks very suspect in those rear drum components where the nipples attach.
I’m sure i’ve got the wrong mounts
