Hi
I am new to this forum and hope someone could help.
I have a 2004 c3 1.4 8v petrol and have been told by my mechanic it needs a new ecu.
I am going to get one from the local dismantlers but wasn't sure exactly what parts i need so hope could someone confirm for me.
As I understand I need
1. the ECU
2. the BSI unit (the one in the glove box?)
3. the BSM unit (the one under the bonnet next to battery?)
4. Key transponder
is that all or do I need more
hope you can help
many thanks
Dave

You need
The engine ECU
the BSI unit from inside the car
the key (the circuit board and the chip)
and access to lexia clone (info here) to configure the BSI to your actual specifications.
You can loose mileage accuracy because the car will take the highest mileage from the BSI and the speedo and use that.
Advice is to pick a BSI that is from an exact match in spec and year as your car to remove the quantity of configuration in lexia and to get the best chance of compatibility.
For a bonus, if you want to add keys later is to also get the credit card sized 'security card', but these are often missing.
