Whilst I understand that disconnecting a battery will cause reversions to kph, kilometers, loss of date and time, and reversion to French, I had an incidence today where I left home with everything OK, and when I got to my destination all of the menus and warnings had reverted to French. All of the other parameters were as normal. Not a big issue, but this was the second time it has happened, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. The car is a 19 reg C3 110bhp Flair.

I'm having a few problems with my C3 (1.2 110bhp Puretech Flair 19 reg) I thought I had posted on this subject before, but a search didn't find it.

I have 2 issues. The first is that the Android Auto doesn't work. It was fine when I set it up. With the phone connected, on opening the car door there were 2 beeps, and on pressing the nav icon, Google Maps would work fine. All was OK until on a trip in Germany, the screen suddenly went blank. A few days later the screen rebooted as I was driving along and it was back. Then it was fine for a while. It then failed again mid-trip, but was OK next day. Then it failed yet again, and hasn't worked since. When it isn't functioning there are no beeps from the phone.

The second issue is that the menus have sometimes reverted to French. The first time it happened, the digital part of the speedo stayed in mph. The next time the menus reverted to French, and the spped and mileage reading changed to kilometers. It has just happened again today, but the speedo stayed as mph.

Both of these issues seem to be something to do with the 'tablet', so here may be a major issue with it. It is going into the agent on Thursday. Not expecting a fix, but hopefully a diagnosis. I will try to remember to post an update.

It does sound like a faulty headunit. It will be interesting to see what solutions you are offered.

I took the car in again yesterday. When I picked it up, they told me that all that was wrong was that I was using an unsuitable lead. As the phone had worked, suddenly cut out, then worked again, I thought this was dubious. It was suggested that as I am using a Samsung phone, that I should use a genuine Samsung usb lead. As I was passing PC World on the way home I bought a Belkin lead. On plugging in, it was fine for about 10 minutes, then it started throwing a huge wobbly. When I got home I had a look through the odds and ends drawer and found a genuine Samsung lead. Plgged in using this today and everything is fine.

So, if anyone else has an issue like this, a genuine lead may be an easy fix. I can put up with the reversion to French, as that only takes a few moments to fix.
