After disconnecting the power to remove the engine bay fuse box, my 53 plate 1.4hdi has decided to put itself into the dreaded limp mode, I don't know why it should do this as it was running well apart from the wipers till then. Can I reset it manually or do I have to plug it in again?

Hi Bill, is this sorted?
Can I reset it manually
Other than disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it following the disconnect/reconnect procedure, https://citroenc3owners.com/citroen-c3-t ... 3-t69.html

You need to plug in lexia to read and then reset the codes that have been stored. Hopefully this will be enough to put the MIL out, permanent faults won't clear and will need investigating.

The actual procedure to reset the BSI safely is well known for cars with the PSA BSI and comes from sources in the know, here are 2 for reference.

As for using the reset procedure to clear the MIL, that bit is trial and error and I only mentioned it because you asked about 'resetting it manually'. Connecting up the computer to the car is the correct way of sorting this fault but finding a short cut is always useful :)

Gave it a go but no joy, wasn't entirely sure whether it was a late April fools gag, or candid camera, but when desperate it seemed worth a try. Car still limping and MIL on will see about borrowing Lexia on a long term loan, until I sell the bloody car at least :D
