I find it frustrating that the socket goes off when the key is turned to stop the engine.
Is there any way, like repositioned fuse, to keep power to the socket without the whole ignition system powered up??
It would be good if the radio kept going too, but powered socket would be great
I remember on an old Citroën there was a fuse in the box that could be put in a different position to alter this, but that was a few cars ago!

The 'new' Citroens (C3 2002 on) are computer controlled and this includes the radio and the power socket. This is all to conserve battery energy for starting. There are several stages to battery saving, right up to 'Eco Mode'.

I don't think you will find a fuse to swap out :(

But there may be some settings in lexia that could be changed to extend the eco mode timer and other energy saving timers?

It isn't a good idea to have permanently live sockets. I had a permanent live in my first (2007) C4 Grande Picasso behind the third row seats. When in Austria I asked my kids to remove the plug from our fridge when we came back from a day trip. They didn't, so the fridge ran all night (no economy mode either) so in the morning there was nothing. As it was EGS, I couldn't bump-start it, and had to call out the OAMTC. On the 2011 car it had changed to switched,

It is very easy to get used to everything switching off after several minutes. I had to hire a car once and got a Toyota Aygo. After driving on a dismal day, I parked the car for seversl hours, and didn't realise the headlights did not switch off. Again, totally flat battery, but AA turned up in 10 mins.

So after both of these issues I'm glad that I can't run down my battery by leaving something switched on.

OK thanks for that.
Well, I know I can push the radio button back on and it'll play until the eco mode.
And that is fair enough bearing in mind what you guys said.
I just hoped there might be a way to keep the socket going either with the key turned 1 click, or until the eco mode kicks in.
Auntie Citroën knows best....! 🙄😊
Anyway, thanks for the feedback

Hello Captain Kirk

Just out of interest, what did you want to power from the car?

If it's something that only requires a small current have you thought about getting one of the newer battery starter/boosters. As well as starting your car if you are unfortunate enough to have a flat battery (like when someone plugs something in and forgets :o :D ) many have power outlets to charge phones and power other equipment. They in turn can be recharged form the car's 12v outlet when the engine is running.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
