Hi folks hopefully someone can help me, apologies if question has already been asked / answered.
I have a 2007 1.6 HDI diesel manual C3
I was changing front suspension struts and when refitting left hand side the shaft popped out of the transmission casing leaking an amount of fluid.
I have two questions,
Is it alright just to push the drive shaft back into place will the oil seals reseal?
Where is the plug to top up the transmission fluid located?
Thanks
Johnny

Yes, the oil seal may reseat, but it's best to replace the driveshaft seal because they can wear and can weep. While it's out it's worth doing.Jonleahy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 11:00 pm Hi folks hopefully someone can help me, apologies if question has already been asked / answered.

If you have a sealed for life gearbox (no level or filler point):
Fully drain the gearbox oil, measure the correct amount of the right gearbox oil and put the oil thought the breather hole at the top of the gearbox.
If yours isn't sealed for life, just fill it to the max mark (the filler hole is max level).
