Hi,
I'm hoping you can all help me, I've got a problem with my key fob which doesn't seem to be working, I purchased another from eBay and tried the re-syncing procedure but still does not seem to lock or unlock when I press the key fob
If I lock the drivers door manually, only the drivers door itself locks is this normal or should they all lock like normal central locking?
If I put the key in the ignition the child lock button works fine without any problems, the dash button works also if I press it, it locks and unlocks but I have noticed the little led light below the sign on the button does not light up like it used to?
The re-syncing procedure I used was to get in the car, close all doors, put key in ignition switch ignition on and hold the lock button for 10 seconds, let go and remove the key wait 1 minute get out the car and then try the fob... To which I have tried several times without any success
Any recommendations to solve this issue would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Rob
Unfortunately re-syncing a fob only works if its programmed to the car first. You could try re-syncing the old fob, but before doing that, have you tried a new battery in the fob?

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Locking the drivers door doesn't lock the rest of the vehicle, also the red light under the lock button is the alarm indicator, if the fob isn't locking the car the alarm won't be active.

So the fob I purchased is useless? I thought a fob could be synced to another vehicle?
Also the original fob is broken, the lock button on it has broke off from the circuit board itself and smells like it has burnt out

OK for parts, but as a whole unit, useless without the right car its matched to.So the fob I purchased is useless?
A new one can be, but a used one can't beI thought a fob could be synced to another vehicle?

Messy, shame about it being burnt out. Sounds like you need a 'NEW' fob circuit boardAlso the original fob is broken, the lock button on it has broke off from the circuit board itself and smells like it has burnt out

It may be possible to unsolder the chip and swap it over to the good board, but if the chip is fried, its not going to work.
You can get new switches (on eBay), or use one off the fob you purchased. It all depends if you know someone who can solder SMD stuff.
