I've got the early-model (2002) C3, a 1.4L Petrol to be exact, and I've noticed that there are some substantial differences between my instrument panel (where speed, revs, fuel, temperature and oil levels are gauged) and the one shown in my car's handbook - for one, the one in the handbook seems more useful! (It shows the oil level at all times, and seems to show an on-board trip/range and/or consumption computer; minor features that I'm sorely missing as a student driver in an age where you can pay £1.40 per litre for petrol!

This panel is very easily removed with only three torx screws and a clip-lock connector fixing it in place. My question is, would it be interchangeable with the later-version displays that have all the useful trip information, or am I stuck with the basic version?

Thanks for any information you may have!

Hi omarsmith

There were several different displays fitted over the years. I have not made the swap as you suggest, but I doubt if the computer (BSI) has the software that later models had to provide the extra information needed for the display to use.
