Had this problem for two years now, to the point where i can remove the tail lights read a book and eat a sandwich all at the same time.Joking apart the tail light connections leave a lot to be desired, im supprised no fires reported as yet. In my case it seems on the offside tail as you push the light fitting into body there is something behind pressing on the connector plug and pushing it out of line which either causes a week connection or a loss of one light. Notice never any probs with front lights. In reality these lights need a complete rewire close to the light fitting.
