Good afternoon,
I have a problem with my 2011 diesel C3; sometimes when I turn the ignition on, the windows, wipers and parts of the instrument display do not work. If I wobble the switch it all springs to life. I guess there is a problem with the ignition switch. Before I start pulling the dashboard apart, does anyone know if the switch contact assembly be changed, or do I have to buy a whole new unit, together with coded key etc?
Thanks in advance.
David

The steering lock/ignition switch is a single unit. You may be able to strip it down and make a repair, but it's only available as a complete unit.
There is a single use, one way screw attaching the ignition barrel to the steering and you will end up drilling this out somehow...
The locks etc come as a complete kit

Just as you may have already thought, being a security device, its not going to be cheap.

Morning.
Thanks very much for the information and quick reply. I did think it might be expensive when I could not find any info on the Internet on how to replace the contacts. I will try blasting it with switch cleaner, but i don't hold out much hope.
Weird how it only effects some of the functions on the car, but when you wobble the key you can hear a relay under the dash on the passenger side click on and everything springs to life.
Cheers,
David

The solution to replacing ignition switch on a C3 is here.
