The plastic bit attaching the hydraulic rams to the boot have broken off (on both sides) - hence the boot heavily falls open (ouch!), and also the rear window no longer stays in an open position (dog has been clunked on the head several times when getting in - also ouch!). Can they be repaired - or is it necessary to replacethe hydraulic rams that control this?

Hi OllyBGood,

The gas struts can not be repaired if they get weak, they need to be replaced.

I don't think you can buy the plastic bit separately.

There is a topic here that covers replacing the gas struts on the C3 boot and there are also links to source the parts.
