I have problems with my C3 Central Locking. The passenger door and rear doors will not open from inside or outside the car but they do appear to be able to be locked/deadlocked. Deadlock is permanently on. Child lock is permanantly illuminated.
Keyfob operates the tailgate OK (open and shut) and also locks the drivers door. Key manually opens and locks the drivers door.
CD/Radio plays OK but the CD in it will not eject. I believe the CD not ejecting fault started at the same time the central locking failed as I only noticed it after the central locking failed.
I have looked at the forum and cannot find anything suggesting these two malfunctions are linked.
Can anyone on here advise the best way forward?
Thanks

Have you checked all the fuses?
Start with the glove box

Fuse 16 was checked and is fine.gfromleeds wrote:Have you checked all the fuses?

Could the malfunction of the CD not ejecting and central locking be linked?
All things now seem to point towards a BSI failure.

No, I don't think so.ndt82c wrote:Could the malfunction of the CD not ejecting and central locking be linked?
Will the CD play the one that is in there?
If Ejecting is the only fault you will find its just jammed

Something similar has come up before herendt82c wrote:I have problems with my C3 Central Locking. The passenger door and rear doors will not open from inside or outside the car but they do appear to be able to be locked/deadlocked. Deadlock is permanently on. Child lock is permanantly illuminated.

It could well be. Central locking is controlled by the BSI.ndt82c wrote:All things now seem to point towards a BSI failure.

Yes, the CD plays but will not eject.C3CAR wrote: Will the CD play the one that is in there?
It seems so strange the two faults (Central Locking and the CD not ejecting) started happening at the same time. I am sure they must be linked.

If you persist in faulting as if they were connected you can be wasting time and money. If you fault find them as separate faults and find a common cause you haven't lost anything.ndt82c wrote:Yes, the CD plays but will not eject.C3CAR wrote: Will the CD play the one that is in there?

You can easily disconnect the stereo / CD and prove / disprove the central locking is still faulty or fixed.
You can also try the CD unit in another C3 and see if it will eject, give it a good shake and it may just start working

Was just enquiring as to whether anyone else had similar faults and if so were they linked in anyway.C3CAR wrote:If you persist in faulting as if they were connected you can be wasting time and money. The Central Locking fault was identified first. Was just tidying my car up prior to a trip to the garage and discovered I couldnt eject the CD. I know I loaded the 'trapped' CD about a week before the Central Locking failed.
As you say maybe best to treat the faults seperately.
