Hi, I have a C3 2003 1.4 HDI 8V exclusive model car that I bought second hand here in Italy. I don’t have the manual so this forum has been very helpful.
I need help in identifying the correct replacement part for my car. The aircond/fan is intermittently working and we think it’s the heater blower resistor. We soldered the connection as it looked worn down which fixed it for a few weeks but the problem is happening again. I want to order a new part but despite putting in my car make model etc to sites like mister-auto I get several types of resistors that supposedly fit the car specs. Can anyone help to identify what is the correct part that I need to order as I’ll likely order it from the UK so want to avoid having to return the wrong part?
Thanks

Hi.
Don't solder the heter resistor pack because you may trip the over heat resistor.
If you want to identify the heater resistor pack for your car, just remove it and compare the pictures with yours and the right model and year. The wrong ones look completely different.
It is unlikely to be the resistor with an intermittent fault but it is worth a try.

Thank you. I’ll compare the models as suggested.
You mention the fact this is intermittently happening may not indicate it is not the heater blower resistor. What do you think may be the cause or suggested areas to check?

The faulty blower resistors usually give no fan or it only blows on maximum.
An intermittent fault could be a connector or the switch. So many things to investigate and so many different parts fitted to various models.
Intermittent may follow a pattern, like, after a long drive, on a hot day, when moving slowly or only on a Monday. Have you found a pattern?

I’ve been trying to establish if there’s a pattern, the most likely one I can think of is the hot day scenario. But I’m not confident that’s when it has solely happened so I’ll just have to pay more attention and see if I can replicate it. Thanks for your help so far.
