Hi everyone,

I'm new in the forum, and I was quite pleased to find it! I haven't been able to find an answer to this question - but apologies in advance if this has been asked.

I have my 2005 C3 in Spain and I am bringing it to the UK in two weeks (now I am resident here and I am going to register it in the UK). I know all the paperwork that I need to go through but I am stilll not clear about the lights, that I know I need to modify to pass the MOT (vehicle's inspection).

I have read that headlights need to point to the left (now, being a LHD, poing to the right), but I don't know if I can make that change myself or I need to go to a garage.

And then I don't have the car here in the UK so I don't know if it has one or two rear foglights - can anyone confim this? Sorry for this I know it's a simple question but I haven't seen a C3 for a few days and can't find a downloadable manual online for a 2005 model. And if it has only one it will be on the left and I have to change it to the right to pass the MOT. Has anyone gone through this and, again, can it be done by oneself or it's better to get professional help?

I must say I like fiddling with things but I don't have the right tools so unless it's simple task I will get some help.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this !

The whole headlight unit for each side is different for left hand drive and right hand drive cars. I will be a case of procuring a set of RHD Front lights (like these on ebay.co.uk) and fitting them after removing the original ones. Its a bit fiddly, but you can do this yourself.

Its got two on the 2002-2005, so you won't need to make any changes to the rear lights, but the steering wheel will be in the wrong place

Hi C3CAR,

Many thanks for your quick reply and for the advice! I'm glad to know about the two fog lights, and I will order the headlights from ebay (thanks for the link too). I am not sure about doing it myself... I actually do like doing those things, so will probably try.

In another forum about importing vehicles to UK someone suggested selling the used headlights units in ebay, so will do that too.

I really appreciate your help.
Best,
Sailor

tomasa has some information on removing the headlight units in this topic, which may help you.

That is a great idea!! You can post the link here to catch anyone taking their UK C3 to Spain or France or any of the LHD countries :)

Now you've convinced me with the picture! ;)

Thanks for the link, I definitely give it a try. And will post the link of the sale here, hopefully it will be of use to someone!
