Hi,

I have an issue with the wife's c3. Her headlight seemed to get condensation in it so did the usual tried drying it out etc. then mot time came and the headlight on the drivers side would not move using the slider inside the car. I could hear the motor on the passenger side but not on the driver. Any way the guy let me go with a pass as I knew him said it was only a fraction high. So its mot time again soon and decided to get a new light for it.

Fitted light today and guess what still no motor movement on the new unit so I guess its a wiring problem as all the lights work.

Tried looking for a fuse and can't see any mention in the book. does any one have any ideas if there is a fuse or some thing else I need to look at, I spent 2 hours to find its not the old head light :( it does look nice and bright though hehe.

thanks for any help :)

Welcome to the C3 forum zad,

There are 2 fuse boxes on the Citroen C3 this link shows you where they are

Fuses to check in the engine compartment fuse box are F9 and F10 (both are 15A and each protects a headlight motor circuit).

F9 and F10 are the 2 blue fuses if the foreground in this picture:

Cheers.

Thanks for the update zad,

There are manual adjustments on the headlight.

This picture shows the plastic gears that are attached to the motor in the headlight unit. There is a hex socket that is part of the white gear, a 6mm allen key fits perfectly to allow manual adjustment as if it was the motor driving.

The other pictures are of the manual adjustment which accepts a 6mm socket. This doesn't have a motor, so this will be the one that the technician will adjust.

Also shown is the electrial connector for the headlight unit, it carries power for the headlight motor and all the lamps.

Hopefully this will give you just enough adjustment to get through the MOT :)

I recently changed the headlights on my C3 and the motors are working fine but the dipped lights are not level and the manual adjustment doesn't work. They rise and fall evenly with the hight switch but the driver's side is always about 3inches lower than the pasenger side. I had to change the lights as I am exporting the car to France. Anyone any ideas why there is no manual adjustment. I bought the lights online from a German company. It's difficult to see from adjusting the old light units but they don't seem to adjust manually either.

the silver hex head threaded bar in the picture is linked directly to the reflector, turning the hex head angles the reflector up and down.

The plastic on the end of the bar inside the headlamp is easily snapped off with excessive turning of the hex head adjuster.

The motor adjustment acts on the opposite side of the reflector and works in reverse to angle it, but with the same principle.

If turning the manual adjustment makes no difference, then maybe its busted?
