do i need to remove the centre console to replace my handbrake and how? also do i need a ramp to replace handbrake thank you in anticipation

Yes, you need to remove the centre console if you want to remove the handbrake lever assembly.

To remove the centre console, twist off the gear lever, lever off the plastic cap to reveal a nut and lever off the small plastic surround that is around the handbrake lever to reveal some more fixings to remove.

There is a small panel under the dashboard, remove this to reveal fixings that attach the centre console (arrowed).

With all the fixings removed, the centre console is now free to be removed.


You will need to chock the wheels before you remove the handbrake, but you won't need to raise the car unless you also want to change the handbrake cable.
