Hi, not a mechanic by any means but is this just a case of putting the two handbrake cables back into the bracket? I will take it to someone as I have no idea how to get the console off and hands to big to reach in there. But is that it? SHould be a 10 minute job for someone that knows what they are doing, right?

The problem is not going to be putting them back on, but fixing the problem that caused them to come off.
They never just fall off, so you have some serious trouble with the rear brakes.
I would suggest you get it put up on a ramp and have the rear brakes inspected for their condition and then remove the centre console to see why it failed like that.

Thanks for the reply, they were loose for a while, I would have to pull it up a little bit before clicking and sometimes the handbrake light was on because the handbrake never went back down properly, very loose when handbrake off. I presume(?) that was what did it because when I went to put them on I was in a rush and pulled a bit to fast.

The rear brakes have a spring to pull the cables tight.GGM wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 9:40 pm Thanks for the reply, they were loose for a while, I would have to pull it up a little bit before clicking and sometimes the handbrake light was on because the handbrake never went back down properly, very loose when handbrake off. Your rear brakes do need to be looked at properly. The cables should never be able to disengage themselves from the handbrake lever.
