Hi WEG,
i am now getting a grinding//crunching sound when i turn the steering left and right,
I think you will need someone else to help, one to turn the steering wheel and another to listen, try to find out if the noise is coming from a top mount of the suspension, and which side, or from the motor, as you suggested. Its not usual for the motors to make a grinding noise, but yo never know
and the sound is not notable with the engine turned off
But its also much more difficult to get the wheel turned lock to lock quickly without the power steering assistance when the engine is off, so this may not be relevant.

This picture of the top of the suspension top mount came from this post
questions-about-a-citroen-c3-not-relate ... -t578.html (well worth reading if you need to change the top mount bearings)

If you finds it's suspension, these may help Citroen C3 suspension top mount kit (eBay) or a full spring, strut and top bearings as a unit (eBay)

You can change just the power steering motor (eBay) if this proves to be your source of noise.

A Stethoscope from Amazon can be very useful for tracking down noises ;)
