Hi,

Related to a question I've just posted over in the petrol engines section, could anybody tell me if there's a list of which PSA gearboxes have which gear ratios? Cutting to the chase, I need to change the engine in my '03 1.4 8v C3 SX and while it's out I thought it'd be nice to get a better set of gear ratios in there - the standard ones seem really badly suited to my weedy engine. Might just be my unwell engine of course but they seem way too tall and widely spaced.

I'd like to put in something with closer ratios, and maybe a lower final drive. As in my other post, I'm new to the Citroen world so don't know which models to find good gearboxes (which will fit mine) in - if indeed there are any. Intuitively, I think VTRs (C2? C4?) should have sportier ratios, and that smaller engines might have shorter gearing and / or final drive, maybe C3 Picasso too being bigger (if it's the same basic car underneath)? Can anybody advise? Are Peugeot 206 / 207 / 1007 (or whatever) gearboxes likely candidates? What about Saxos?

Thanks!
