Hi everyone, very short question.

My 07 Pluriel with a MA5 gearbox, no dip stick, no gear oil fill hole (sealed for life). How can I check the gear oil level? Just worries about last time didn't measure how much it drained very well. Thank you for any idea!

Hi

The only way to know the correct quantity of oil is in the MA5 sealed for life gear boxes is to fully drain down and refill (via the breather) the exact, pre-measured quantity of correct oil (here).

At least with the older boxes there was a filling point on the side and you could add more oil to it, if it took the oil, it needed it.

But gearboxes don't burn up oil like the engines so it isn't so much of a problem if it is maintained properly.

'gearbox fail' isn't a dashboard fault for a MA5 manual gearbox.
