Hi, my 2003 C3 auto had a new timing belt kit fitted last week along with a new wheel bearing on the front drivers side.
Since then there has been a noise from the front of the car (drivers side)
It is like a distant thumping in relation to the wheel speed, and I have also noticed a groaning noise from the front when braking just before the car comes to a stop.
I have taken it back to the garage twice but they are unable to find the noise.
It was definitely not there before the work was carried out by the garage, any suggestions ?
I am pretty sure it is braking related but my lack of experience is making me doubt myself.

Hi kjharry

Can you take it to a different garage?

Obviously the first garage didn't do a great job the first time and they still can't sort it.

It sounds like you need a fresh pair of ears on the problem.

Suspect it to be something that was changed or disturbed when the wheel bearing work was done.
