I was wondering if there was any variation in front coil spring end loop diameter (see yellow arrows in picture) since the springs I have ordered are slightly smaller in diameter and does not quite fit in the endmounting see second picture. I would have thought it would fit snuggly into this.
The only thing I could think is that under compression they expand outwards at the ends. Does anybody actually have some hands on experiance and done this and found that this is the case?
I really cannot see citroen making at set of slightly smaller shocks end caps. (there is a video showing instalation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M64ID7xvps)

It is. the insert is just hard rubber and it has taken on the impression of "your" spring.
The shock strut has a detente for the bottom of the spring to engage in but the top spring retainer is just rubber and you could install the spring anywhere on the rubber surface.
You can see in that Youtube clip at the 6:57 mark that the top spring mount just pops on. If your spring does not fit in the cup, at all, its the wrong spring! It happens. No disrespect intended. I get sick of people saying "Gee, I've never seen that before" LOL!
Take the spring and the cup back to where you got the spring and show them.

I agree, but it was autodoc online so I'm not sure if they will take it back. What I really needed was to be sure that 1 YELLOW + 2 BLUE on the spring is 5002.LK and in that case why is https://www.autodoc.co.uk/stark/8059191 wromg?Ozvtr wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 1:24 am It is. the insert is just hard rubber and it has taken on the impression of "your" spring.

The colour coding on the springs only mean something the manufacturer. There is no formalized markings for springs across the market, at least nothing I could ever find. Some springs aren't even marked.
